i am going to tell you a story about little lucy.
last night...around 10 p.m. i was folding laundry in our room. there was a plastic bag on the window bench which lucy decided she wanted to get inside of. (kitty had already been in and out of it.)
this was a small bag. i continued folding laundry while she tried to get in the bag.
then i noticed she had put her head through the handle and was now trying to get it out.
i went to go help her out and kitty started to chase her.
the next thing i knew they were both gone and i just heard alot of noise down stairs.
i looked out in the backyard and i found some garbage on the grass that was in plastic bag.
no plastic bag, no lucy. just barkley, bella and kitty.
so of course i start to panic.
lucy is missing and she has a plastic bag handle around her neck.
i am sure she is going to be strangled by the plastic bag.
after searching around calling her name forever i notice the animals are huddled around the shed.
the back of the shed is up against the wall with about a six inch space. this is where bella keeps sniffing. and kitty is sitting on the wall up above.
so i go to the front of the shed and get on my hands and knees (keep in mind i have a large belly that makes it hard to accomplish this) and try and look under the shed to she if lucy was under there.
after searching and moving leaves and mud i see two little glowing eyes in the back of the shed. hooray!
so now i know where she is but i am still thinking she is going to be stuck under the shed with the bag around her neck and won't be able to get out.
and of course there is not room to look back behind the shed so i just try and stick my hand under it. and i find the bag! its been shredded and is no longer around little lucy's neck. good news.
still can't get lucy to come out.
so i went inside to get bill to have him help me get her out. cuz for sure she is stuck. i just know it.
anyway...finally after at least 30 min she just comes out! yay!
i go to get her and and notice she looks very wet and dirty. wrong.
that doesn't even describe how wet and dirty she was. she had mud covering her whole belly, sides and legs. oh my gosh!
i carry her in the house wondering how in the world am i going to clean her off. i take her down to the laundry room and try to wipe her off. ha. that was not going to work. so i go ask bill to help me cuz i don't really know what i am going to do. and he just tells me to put her in the shower!
hello. cats. water. not friends.
meanwhile lucy is wandering all over the laundry room trying to get the mud off and there is mud and little rocks and leaves everywhere!
not only is she a mess the laundry room is now covered in mud too.
i did end up taking her to the shower. the one downstairs has a wand thing so i figured that should work perfect. so lucy and i got in the shower clothes and all.
surprisingly she didn't really freak out with all the water. she just kept trying to get out.
long long story short i got lucy all cleaned up and she didn't strangle herself with the bag.
what a great end of the day.
moral of the story...don't let your cats play in bags no matter how cute they look.
